The Helicobacter pylori tests are used to detect and diagnose infection by the bacteria. It may be done to check the cause of gastritis or peptic ulcers and to monitor the treatment of the infection. Helicobacter pylori are bacteria that may inhabit the digestive system especially the lining of the stomach, upper part of the small intestine (duodenum) and the antrum. Infection by the bacteria causes the inflammation of the stomach lining and the development of chronic duodenal, peptic and gastric ulcers, active gastritis, stomach cancer and other inflammatory gastroduodenal lesions.

HLA B-27 Test

Blood Test
Reports in 1 Day
The HLA-B27 test is primarily ordered to help strengthen or confirm a suspected diagnosis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS),reactive arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), or sometimes anterior uveitis. The HLA-B27 test is not a definitive test that can be used to diagnose or rule out a disorder. It is one piece of evidence used along with the evaluation of signs, symptoms, and other laboratory tests to support or rule out the diagnosis of certain autoimmune disorders, such as ankylosing spondylitis and reactive arthritis. The HLA-B27 test may be ordered as part of a group of tests used to diagnose and evaluate conditions causing arthritis-like chronic joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation. This group of tests may include an RF (rheumatoid factor) with either an ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) or a CRP (C-reactive protein). HLA-B27 is sometimes ordered to help evaluate someone with recurrent uveitis that is not caused by a recognizable disease process.

IgA test measures the level of IgA antibodies in blood. IgA deficiency is a defect in the immune system characterized by an inadequate amount of the antibody class known as immunoglobulin A (IgA). Antibodies are large proteins produced by the body to fight infections caused by invaders, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and other foreign agents. The immune system responds to the protein component (antigens) of these invaders by producing large quantities of specific antibodies, including IgA. These antibodies bind to the antigens on the surface of an invader (bacteria, for example) and prevent them from multiplying, thus halting the spread of disease in the body. People with IgA deficiency are also more susceptible to certain other disorders, including autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and chronic hepatitis; respiratory allergies and asthma; chronic diarrheal diseases; and some types of cancer, such as squamous cell carcinoma of the lungs and thymoma (cancer of the thymus gland).

An immunoglobulin test measures the level of certain immunoglobulins, or antibodies, in the blood. Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system to fight antigens, such as bacteria, viruses, and toxins. IgM antibodies which is found mainly in the blood and lymph fluid, is the first antibody to be made by the body to fight a new infection. EElevation of immunoglobulin M may occur in monoclonal gammopathies such as macroglobulinemia, primary systemic amyloidosis, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, and related disorders. Decreased levels are found in patients with primary or secondary immune deficiencies.

IgG test measures the level of IgG antibodies in blood. The main immunoglobulin (Ig) in human blood is IgG. This is the second most abundant circulating protein and contains long-term protective antibodies against many infectious agents. Elevations of IgG may be due to polyclonal immunoglobulin production. Monoclonal elevations of IgG characterize multiple myeloma. Decreased immunoglobulin levels are found in patients with congenital deficiencies.

Lupus anticoagulant testing is a series of tests used to detect lupus anticoagulant (LA) in the blood. LA is an autoantibody associated with excess blood clot formation. It helps to detrmine the cause of unexplained thrombosis, recurrent miscarriage or prolonged PTT test. This test used to diagnose Systemic lupus Erythematosis,Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), infections, and certain kinds of tumors. If someone has tested positivw for lupus anticoagulant, the series of tests may be done again in several week to see if the lupus anticoagulant is transient or persistent.

C-ANCA and p-ANCA are two tests used in the diagnosis and evaluation of rheumatologic diseases. These conditions often result from a dysfunction in the immune system, which triggers an attack on certain tissues in the body that it mistakes as foreign or invading microorganisms or poisons. These autoimmune conditions can be debilitating and cause significant health complications and disability. The c-ANCA and p-ANCA tests in particular help diagnose conditions that cause vasculitis. These are antibodies to a type of white blood cell called neutrophil. This test helps to detect and diagnose certain forms of autoimmune vasculitis, including granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener granulomatosis), microscopic polyangiitis, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg Strauss syndrome).

Paul Bunnel Test

Blood Test
Reports in 3- 5 days
This is the test for heterophile antibodies used in the diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis. Heterophil antibodies have the ability to agglutinate red blood cells of different animal species. The Paul-Bunnell test uses sheep erythrocytes; the Monospot test, horse red cells. In infectious mononucleosis, IgM heterophil antibodies are usually detectable for the first 3 months of infection. Heterophil antibody tests such as the Paul Bunnell or Monospot tests may be used in the diagnosis of glandular fever. The pattern of reactivity is important as it characterises the heterophil antibodies present in glandular fever from those occurring in other diseases such as hepatitis, lymphoma, Leukemia, lymphoma, rubella, malaria.

This test helps to detect and diagnose certain forms of autoimmune vasculitis, including granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener granulomatosis), microscopic polyangiitis, and eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg Strauss syndrome). Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are a group of autoantibodies produced when a person’s immune system mistakenly targets and attacks the neutrophil protein, proteinase 3 (PR3). This results in the production of autoantibodies to PR3. The PR3 (C-ANCA) blood test detects the presence or absence of these autoantibodies. These autoantibodies are present in a variety of autoimmune disorders that cause inflammation and damage to blood vessels throughout the body (systemic vasculitis). Vasculitis causes tissue and organ damage due to the narrowing and obstruction of blood vessels and the subsequent loss of blood supply.

PSA Free Test

Blood Test
Reports in 1 Day
Free PSA test measures the amount of free prostate-specific antigen (not bound to protein) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced in the prostate, a small gland that sits below a man's bladder. PSA is mostly found in semen, which also is produced in the prostate. Small amounts of PSA ordinarily circulate in the blood. Elevated levels of PSA are an indicator of prostate cancer BPH, prostatitis, and other prostate disorders. This test is used to monitor prostate cancer.

PSA Total Test

Blood Test
Reports in 1 Day
PSA test measures the amount of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in your blood. PSA is a protein produced in the prostate, a small gland that sits below a man's bladder. PSA is mostly found in semen, which also is produced in the prostate. Small amounts of PSA ordinarily circulate in the blood. PSA exists in two forms in the blood: free (not bound) and complexed (cPSA, bound to protein). PSA test is the total PSA that measures the sum of free PSA and cPSA in the blood. Elevated levels of PSA are an indicator of prostate cancer BPH, prostatitis, and other prostate disorders. This test is used to monitor prostate cancer.
