A parathyroid hormone (PTH) blood test measures the level of parathyroid hormone in the blood. iT IS a hormone secreted by the parathyroid glands that acts to maintain a constant concentration of calcium in the extracellular fluid. Serum progesterone test measures the level of progesterone in the blood.
