Why get tested?
Hemoglobin is a type of protein in RBC that carries oxygen to body organs and transports back carbon dioxide from the body to the lungs. Abnormal levels indicate the low count of RBC i.e. Anemia. Anemia can be caused due to different reasons such as deficiency of the vitamin, chronic diseases, etc.
When to get tested?
If the patient experiences weakness, fatigue, dizziness, or shortness of breath, doctors prescribe the test. It is also a part of the routine medical examination to monitor general health.
